*** Configure ***
Choose Configure from the Connect menu and set as follows:
Method: Default
Device: [your modem, or one like your modem]
Leave everything else as default and don’t make any changes.
Here are the default settings:
Default Init: (leave as is, don’t change)
Custom Init: (leave blank)
Flow Control: RTS-CTS
Carrier Detect: Software
Port: Modem Port
Arbitrate: Query
*** Set Up a Service ***

1- Choose Create from the Connect menu.
2- Enter the name of the service and click Save.
3- Enter the connect info in the phone number field.
4- Click the Connect button, that should do it.

** Emulation Setup **
If you want an emulation, click the Emulation radio button and choose the appropriate, example VT-102 is the most popular, but nothing else needs to be changed in this window. You can also try ANSI-BBS but usually VT-102 will do it.
For a nice color change, you can choose “Foreground: Blue” and “Background: Lt Grey.” For corrections online, try “Delete Key: Send Del” and “Backspace: Destruct.”
** AutoLogon Macro **
To develop an autologon, click the Logon radio button and choose Learn from the Logon Macro pop-up menu. Logon carefully, and without mistakes and follow the ProTERM directions on the screen.
** Window Management **
To set up a terminal window so that it allows larger amounts of scrollback capture
ProTERM allows the same terminal window to be used for all calls, or for calls to certain services.

1- Open the terminal window.
2- Click the Emulation radio button.
3- Enter a name, such as the name of the service or “ProTERM Scrollback” or whatever. This optional. When the name is left blank, the terminal window always has the name of the service being called.
4- Change the line limit to a number that will suit your needs. The limit of 3000 lines works well. Note, when the terminal window capture size is increased, you may have to give the ProTERM application a little more memory to handle large window sizes.
5- Set the Purge limit to about 100. This trims the top 100 lines each time the terminal window buffer fills. Setting this to less than 100 may slow ProTERM, as there is a normally unnoticeable slight pause to perform this action.

To use the same terminal window for future calls to the same service, click “Use Existing Terminal Window:” Also click on “Auto Load/Save Terminal Window”
To stop the warning when the window is full, click off “Warn When Terminal Window Full:”
Any terminal window using the same “Term Window Name:” will share the same terminal window. That is, if all services called had the same name, there would only be one terminal window for each call. Terminal window files are saved in the “Sessions” folder.
